Julie Ramirez is a busy mom of 3 who works alongside her husband helping families every day plan for the unexpected and build generational wealth through teaching basic financial literacy. She has a passion for helping families not go through what she endured after the loss of her mother and her father. Her business with her husband is unique as they have clients who don’t have a clue where to start with their finances or who may be concerned they may not have the extra to save in their budget to those who are looking to help make their money work long term for them.
Julie Ramirez, a graduate from the University of South Florida, speaks of her husband Tony, “Tony and I have been married since 2003 and have been partners in life much earlier than that. Tony was my date for both homecoming and prom during my senior year of high school.”
“We are both from Englewood, Florida, and after high school, Tony followed me to Tampa while I was attending USF, enrolled at Tampa Technical Institute and graduated in 2002 with a degree in electrical,” says Ramirez. “We decided that Tampa would be our home and quickly planned to start a family.” We had no idea that the happiest time in our life would turn tragic so suddenly.
In 2006, just a few short years after the Ramirezes were married, tragedy struck in Julie’s family. “My Mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2005, shortly after her 50th birthday, and we lost her in 2006,” says Ramirez. It was unexpected and came suddenly after having my first child. I lost my mother at the most critical time you need your mom.
Again in 2011, more loss occurred. Both Tony and Julie lost their fathers, and Julie’s younger brother, 15 at the time, needed a legal guardian. “I became a parent to my younger brother. My husband Tony stepped in and taught my brother how to drive and while it was difficult trying to fill that role, it was also difficult and challenging,” says Ramirez. “We soon realized that my Father had no will and I found myself maneuvering through the estate, which ended up in state probate court. The estate task was daunting at best and an eye-opener on the importance of being prepared for your loved ones if you pass.” The life we had worked so hard to build was slowly crumbling down.
“Our partnership helps people in similar situations not go through what we experienced. Through this business, I have been able to connect with people who have relatable circumstances that I did. Helping with loss and picking up pieces,” Ramirez says. “There must be a reason that I have this career. I can relate to these people and feel that God brings me to these people to help them through their circumstances.”
Julie offers services to include - teaching financial literacy, game plans to reach financial goals, looking at investments for their long- and short-term needs, and constructing wills. From life insurance, retirement, college savings, investments, debt consolidation, and debt coaching, financial literacy coaching and refinancing. It’s a total one-stop shop with personalized strategies to meet each family’s financial goals. She works alongside her husband to help families every day plan for the unexpected as they crusade to help more families.
“All clients have become very close friends as opposed to simply business relationships,” says Ramirez “Our business a way for us to regroup and put our energy into something positive from something so difficult.” I understand what it’s like to juggle grief and needing someone by your side to help you move through the tough decisions. That’s what’s key about me. If you are interested in connecting with her to see how she can assist you with your finances, you can reach her at tonyandjulieramirez.com. www.tonyandjulieramirez.com
