Why Storytelling Matters to Me
Storytelling matters to me because some of the most important lessons in my life didn’t come from a textbook. They came from lived experience. As a mother raising an autistic daughter, I often felt like I was trying to find my way without a clear path. Sharing those experiences allows me to give meaning to what we walked through and helps other people feel seen, understood, and less alone. Stories also preserve the voices, wisdom, and experiences that might otherwise be overlooked.
I believe stories can change the way people think, feel, and act. A powerful story can build understanding where there was judgment, create connection where there was isolation, and give someone the courage to take their next step. Stories can educate, open difficult conversations, challenge assumptions, and remind people that their experiences matter. They don’t just share information. They create impact, build community, and leave a legacy that can continue helping others long after the book is finished.
What Drew Me to Publishing
I was inspired to step into the publishing space because I’ve seen what happens when someone finally gives their story a voice. Through my own writing and my work with anthology authors, I’ve watched people move from uncertainty to confidence as they realize their experiences can educate, encourage, and impact someone else.
I also know how overwhelming the publishing process can feel when you’re trying to navigate it alone. I wanted to help make that journey feel clearer, more supported, and less intimidating. Supporting authors allows me to combine my love of storytelling with my passion for helping people share their message, build their authority, and create something meaningful that can outlive them.
My Belief in Visibility and Women’s Voices
Visibility matters because too many women have been taught to minimize their experiences, question their expertise, or wait for permission to speak. When a woman shares her voice, she does more than tell her own story. She helps another woman feel seen, gives language to an experience someone else may not know how to express, and shows what’s possible.
I believe women deserve to be recognized not only for what they’ve survived, but for what they know, what they’ve built, and the wisdom they’ve gained along the way. Visibility can open doors, build credibility, create connection, and turn a personal story into a source of encouragement, education, and lasting impact.
How I Support Aspiring Authors
I support aspiring authors by helping them take what may feel like a big, overwhelming idea and turn it into a clear first step. I listen to what they want their book to accomplish, help them recognize the value of their story or expertise, and guide them toward the publishing option that best fits their goals.
I also encourage them through the fear and self-doubt that often come with putting their voice on the page. Once they choose their package, I help create a smooth handoff to the She Rises Studios team, who walks them through the publishing process. My role is to help them feel seen, prepared, supported, and confident enough to begin.
