Do you ever wonder why, out of the blue you come down with a cold or flu liked symptoms?

According to Louise Hay, Lise Bourbeau, and me when your body comes down with symptoms, it's your body’s way of speaking to you.

What I've come to learn through working with clients who are working on themselves (some may say going through a spiritual awakening) is that different things happen in the body, mind, and emotions.

Have you recently stepped out of your comfort zone and now doing something or about to do something that you will be seen, heard, or all of the above, your body may suddenly experience disruption - like headache, diarrhea, chronic coughing - similar to flu-like symptoms?

Take a moment to reflect on how long you've been working on this project or what's led to shifting out of your comfort zone.

As humans, we are programmed to believe that when the weather changes, it's allergy season, flu season, or whatever season.

The one thing I know to be true is that any time you move out of your comfort zone and work on shift your thoughts (mindset), your ego will try to "protect" you and keep you "safe" by talking you out of taking the big step.

Your ego may sound like -

  • You can't do this

  • Why you

  • What makes you better than them

  • Who do you think you are

If you listen to your ego, you may find yourself overthinking and this brings on headaches and stomach issues.

You may not trust the process and this leads to stomach issues, diarrhea, or constipation.

You have so much to share and say, yet, you have been silenced for so long that your voice shakes when you speak and your body reacts with an intense cough.

You have a burning desire that's looking to be lite, yet, you're afraid so your body experiences a fever.

Your heart beats with excitement, yet flurries with fear leading to heart palpitations or anxiety.

Your feet, knees, and hips hurt from restriction and no momentum.

Your back aches from lack of support or fear of not having or being enough.

The moment you let go and free your hands of your burdens, is the moment you release the emotional weight that you have been carrying, forcing your body to slow down and rest.

See, it's not that you have come down with a seasonal cold, allergy, or flu, it's your body’s way of nudging you, pushing you, and stopping you from dragging your old self into your new reality.

"Physical illnesses often stem from mental or emotional patterns. For the common cold, the body is essentially forcing a person to stop and rest because they are overwhelmed and their mind is in a state of chaos or overload." - Louise Hay

"Flu symptoms are a signal that the body needs a change, often stemming from an inability to process or "breathe in life" and process grief, which is linked to difficulty "breathing in life" or dealing with difficult emotions. It indicates that an individual has reached their physical and emotional limits and that there's a need for change in belief systems, aligning with her core idea that illnesses are messengers from the body." - Lise Bourbeau

The next time your body shows up with symptoms, know that every symptom is associated with the chakras and this is your body’s way to help you clear blocked energy and realign your nervous system.

Every symptom (pain, illness, or disease)stems from an underlying emotion whether the experience is joyful or challenging.

Most people experience physical symptoms toward the end of the year leading into the new year, this is due to cycles changing, karmic reset, and New Year's Resolutions.

Practice loving yourself, aligning your energy, and lighting the fire within you by taking the leap of faith and doing the next big thing.
