A family business: The Mom And Kids Show

Welcome back to The Mom And Kids Show. My name is Aracely I am the mom, my name is Daniel I am one of the kids and I am Damian the other kid.
And that is how we start every episode!
From the Mom:
In 2022 I made one of the boldest decisions of my life. I pulled my kids, Daniel and Damian, out of public school and began homeschooling. Daniel was about to start 7th grade and Damian was going into 3rd. They had always had good grades, but when I asked, “What did you learn today?” the answer was almost always, “Nothing… really.” They were not being challenged to reach their potential, and what they were learning did not feel relevant to today’s world. I wanted something different for them.
In the first year of homeschooling, we tried several curriculums, but nothing aligned with our values or vision. I did not want my boys to simply memorize facts. I wanted them prepared for life, to understand money, know how to start a business, and solve real problems. More than anything, I wanted them to master three skills: how to think, how to communicate, and how to keep learning for life. I also wanted their foundation built on biblical wisdom.
Society paints a path that looks like this: graduate high school, go to college, take on debt, get a job, get married, buy a house, and take on more debt. Along the way, kids are offered credit cards but never taught how money works. They spend over a decade in school, yet graduate without the skills to run a business, manage finances, or file taxes.
As we homeschooled, I shared everything I had learned from running my business since 2012 and experience I had gained in different fields. I wanted my kids to have the real-world knowledge most adults never learn. One day, during one of our conversations, we realized how powerful this was. That is when the idea hit us. What if we could share this with other families?
The Mom and Kids Show was born, a podcast where we teach, learn, and explore topics that matter today. Sometimes I lead the lessons and sometimes my kids teach, making each episode unique. Our mission is simple: to share relevant, real-world knowledge and give the next generation the best possible chance at success.
From One of the Kids (Daniel):
After eight years in public school we decided to try homeschooling. The transition was not easy.
Some days we had no idea what we were doing or what we should be learning. We tested several curriculums but quickly realized that our best learning moments did not happen in workbooks. They happened in the car or around the kitchen table. That is where we had real conversations about topics that were valuable and relevant to today’s world. One day we thought, “Why not share these conversations with other families?” We grabbed a microphone and started recording. That is how The Mom and Kids Show was born. It is just a mom and her two kids talking, teaching and learning things that will actually benefit us and your kids.
From The Other Kid (Damian):
The Mom And Kids Show is a place where I learn a lot and have plenty of funny moments. My favorite part of the show is listening to the facts and the jokes because they make learning even more fun.
