Charel Morris: Returning Humanity to Its Original Intelligence
By She Rises Studios Editorial Team

For more than five decades, Charel Morris has walked a path that few have traveled and even fewer have sustained. As a Transformational Artist, ordained minister, 21st Century Shaman, and founder of Stone Circle Productions, her life's work has centered on helping people reconnect with a deeper source of wisdom that she believes has always existed within them.
Yet for Charel, transformation is not about becoming someone new. It is about remembering who we have always been.
That understanding did not arrive overnight.
It emerged through fifty years of shamanic practice, including an eighteen-year apprenticeship with the late Lynn Andrews, and through decades spent guiding thousands of individuals toward greater self-awareness, authenticity, and personal power.
Looking back on her journey, Charel describes one of her greatest revelations in surprisingly simple terms: transformation is not a destination.
"It is a direction," she explains.
In a world that often celebrates achievement, milestones, and measurable outcomes, Charel offers a different perspective. She believes the most profound changes rarely happen in dramatic moments of breakthrough. Instead, they occur quietly, when individuals stop performing the roles they have been taught to play and allow their true selves to emerge.
At the heart of her philosophy is the belief that every person possesses what she calls an "original intelligence," an innate wisdom that modern society has conditioned many people to ignore. Her work focuses on helping individuals reclaim trust in that intelligence and access a fuller expression of their potential.
This vision extends directly into her entrepreneurial teachings through Stone Circle Productions and her Energetic Economy programs. While traditional business education focuses on strategy, systems, and measurable metrics, Charel encourages leaders to explore what she calls the "invisible 90 percent" of business power.
She often illustrates this concept through the image of an iceberg.
The visible portion above the water represents strategy, analytics, systems, and planning. These tools are important, she says, and should not be discarded. However, the larger mass beneath the surface represents something equally vital: energetic intelligence, intuition, relational awareness, timing, and deeper knowing.
For Charel, business success is not achieved by abandoning logic in favor of intuition. Rather, it comes from integrating both. She believes entrepreneurs become far more effective when they learn to combine analytical thinking with the body's natural intelligence and awareness.
Many business owners immediately recognize this phenomenon in their own lives. They recall situations where a partnership looked ideal on paper but felt wrong deep inside, or moments when every strategic element was in place but results still failed to materialize. Charel sees these experiences not as anomalies but as evidence of a form of intelligence that deserves greater respect and attention.
Her teachings challenge the prevailing belief that productivity and effort alone determine success. Instead, she invites people to explore a broader understanding of power, one that includes the unseen dimensions of human experience.
That invitation forms the foundation of her current body of work, The Shamanic Return.
The program speaks to individuals who feel exhausted by modern systems that demand constant output, competition, and performance. Charel argues that many people are not struggling because they are failing. They are struggling because they are operating within systems that were never designed to support their full humanity.
She contrasts what she calls the "old paradigm" with an emerging way of living and leading rooted in connection, collaboration, reciprocity, and sovereignty.
For Charel, sovereignty is not about control or dominance. It is the quiet certainty of knowing who you are and why you are here.
The transformations she witnesses in those who embrace this approach are often deeply personal. Many describe a physical sense of release, a loosening of long-held tension, a deeper breath, or a feeling of finally standing on solid ground. As that internal shift occurs, decision-making becomes clearer. Self-doubt quiets. Actions become more aligned with purpose.
The results, she says, are not always immediate or dramatic. They are something more valuable: sustainable.
Storytelling has played a crucial role throughout Charel’s work as a teacher, minister, and transformational guide. She describes story as humanity's original technology, existing long before books, media, or digital communication.
For thousands of years, stories have carried wisdom across generations because they do more than communicate information. They create experience.
Charel believes that personal narratives possess a unique power to bypass intellectual defenses and reach people at a deeper emotional level. Facts may inform, but stories transform.
She has seen audiences remain unchanged by brilliant presentations of ideas, only to be profoundly moved by a single honest story rooted in lived experience. The specificity of those stories, she believes, is what gives them universal power.
This conviction also shapes her advice for aspiring authors, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders who feel called to share their message but struggle with self-doubt.
Rather than viewing fear as evidence of inadequacy, Charel sees it as a sign of significance.
The messages that matter most are often the ones that make people hesitate before speaking. They are the truths earned through experience, challenge, loss, and growth.
Her guidance is both simple and courageous: tell the true thing.
Not the most strategic thing. Not the most marketable thing. The truth.
For Charel, meaningful work is never about performance. It is about offering something authentic that may help another person remember a part of themselves they thought was lost.

After fifty years of practice and service, that remains her mission. Through business, storytelling, spiritual teaching, and transformational leadership, Charel Morris continues to invite people back to their own wisdom, their own power, and their own original intelligence.
And for those standing at the threshold of change, she offers a reminder that feels especially relevant today:
The path forward is not about becoming someone else. It is about returning to who you have always been.
