As the excitement for the 2025 Oscars builds, one name is quietly making waves—not for her role in film but for her profound contributions to storytelling and healing. Tracey Booker, a self-published author from Detroit, Michigan, is on a mission to uplift women and share stories of resilience through her powerful book series In the Quest for Love. Her work, deeply personal yet universally relatable, sheds light on the emotional toll of trauma, particularly domestic violence and abuse, while offering a message of hope and transformation.
Tracey’s latest release, Illusions of Loyalty, explores how misplaced devotion can trap individuals in harmful cycles, a theme that resonates with many who have endured similar struggles. The second volume of her series, the book is more than just a narrative—it’s a tool for change, offering a path to recovery and emotional freedom for readers. “My goal is to give a voice to the voiceless,” Tracey shares. “I want my stories to inspire people to reclaim their power and start their journey toward healing.”
Tracey’s connection to healing runs deep. A devoted mother and intuitive writer, she draws from her own life experiences growing up in Detroit, the birthplace of Motown. Music was a constant source of comfort and healing for her, and it continues to play an essential role in her advocacy work today. “Music was our escape,” she recalls. “It helped me make sense of the chaos around me, and now, I incorporate it into my healing practices.”
Inspired by the transformative journeys of famous actors and filmmakers, Tracey has set her sights on seeing her stories adapted for the screen. Her ultimate goal is to have her books translated into films, allowing her message of hope and resilience to reach an even wider audience. “I’ve always been moved by the way film brings stories to life,” Tracey explains. “I believe my books have the potential to inspire on a larger scale if adapted for the big screen.”

A pivotal moment in her journey is approaching: Tracey’s work will be featured in the 2025 Oscars Gifting Suite, where her books will be introduced to Hollywood’s elite. This opportunity aligns with her desire to bridge the gap between literature and cinema, positioning her message alongside the industry’s most influential storytellers. Tracey hopes that by sharing her books with filmmakers and actors, she will spark a dialogue around the social issues of domestic violence, trauma, and the importance of healing.
Amplifying Voices Through Collaboration
While Tracey’s solo work is compelling, she has also found strength in collaboration. Her third book, a collaborative project with 100 women, showcases the power of unity in healing. These women, from diverse backgrounds, have come together to share their stories of adversity and triumph. Each narrative in the collection weaves a larger tapestry of resilience, showing readers that no matter their circumstances, healing and growth are possible.
“I believe in the power of collective healing,” Tracey says. “When women come together to share their experiences, something magical happens. We realize we’re not alone, and we find strength in each other’s stories.”
In addition to her collaborative project, Tracey has contributed to other notable works, including the 100 Voices of Women Anthology and Becoming an Unstoppable Woman: Rise of the Phoenix with She Rises.
