How I Reclaimed My Vitality- and How You Can Do Too

Have you ever felt like life is running you, instead of you living it? Days filled with stress, poor sleep, pain, fatigue, weird symptoms, doctors telling you everything looks fine even though you feel something isn’t right? Or maybe even having chronic symptoms, illnesses, like fibromyalgia. Then this is for you.
I've been living with chronic illness for most of my life, it started when I was 17 and slowly progressed with one thing after the other, until I had pain 24/7, chronic exhaustion, brain fog, and barely getting out of bed many days. At the age of 36 I was diagnosed with endometriosis, fibromyalgia and chronic exhaustion syndrome. I had been living as a shadow of myself for years, feeling trapped in a body at war with me. Because no matter what I did to get better, nothing worked, and it made me even worse instead.
Until one day at a bi-annual check up, when the doctors told me there was nothing to do. I still remember that day vividly and how it broke my heart to hear those words They felt like a verdict to a life I hated and didn't want to live. I didn't have thoughts of wanting to die, but I didn’t want to live like that either. Especially looking at my 3 year old son, I felt grief of not being able to play with him and interact as I wanted, shame of being mostly in a bad mood and how it affected him, anger for being ill and limited, and frustration for not understanding why my body was the way it was. I've always liked to know the answer to things, and to be living this way and not knowing WHY, was one of the hardest parts.
So, when the doctors told me there was nothing to do and couldn't give me answers, something shifted within me. I realized I could no longer wait for someone else to help me - if I ever wanted to find answers and feel better, it was up to me. A spark was lit inside and my search began.
I started to read, watch and explore. The first thing I tried was Medi-Yoga with meditation for stress and hormonal balance. It was a very calm type of yoga that helped me to slow down and reconnect with my body again. To work with it, feel its limitations, and gently honor them. Week by week that bond deepened. I went from seeing my body as an enemy to asking what it needed to feel better. It was a profound shift, and an emotional one too, since I came in contact with what I've tried to escape for way too long - myself.
For the first time ever, I was listening to my inner voice, body and intuition.
The second thing I realized was that illness often has inflammation as a common factor, and I wondered if I could feel better if the inflammation was lower. So what was causing the inflammation? Toxins, I discovered. When our bodies are fed with more toxins and waste products than it can get rid of, it starts to accumulate and our body's way to protect itself is to cause inflammation. Wow! That made sense for me, so I started to cleanse my body. Gently and gradually I changed my diet, supported my kidneys and liver so they could work more efficiently, received a few cavitation/radio frequency treatments (to support kidney and liver function, heal inflammation, get my lymphatic system and fascia moving), and detoxed. Within 6 months my life shifted - I was no longer living with daily pain!
The next step came when I found craniosacral osteopathy, the way it views the body as whole, the interconnectedness, the flow, and what hinders it - I felt like I’d come home. Learning and later practicing it on clients, I could feel the difference in their bodies when it calmed, released physical, emotional, and energetical blocks, and found their way to stillness - the place where the body connects to its own blueprint and starts to heal itself accordingly. That is pure magic! And the results are magical too.
Anxiety, nerve pain, hormonal imbalance, fatigue, headaches, vertebraes out of place, tennis elbows - healed. All different on the surface, yet they share one root cause: a body stuck in overwhelm and blocked from its natural flow. When we clear the blocks that keep the body stuck in discomfort and illness, deep healing can occur. Because when the energetic flow in your body moves at its original pace, your body is strong and knows how to heal.
And this is vitality for me - a body that functions efficiently, where energy flows effortlessly and you can live a life at ease.

Vitality is our natural state. It’s our birthright. And I believe everyone deserves to know that, and to live their life in vitality. That’s why I do what I do.
I’m on a mission to show vitality to the world and to guide women with chronic symptoms through the same journey I’ve taken - to clear and support their bodies through my Rise to Vitality Framework - so they too can reclaim their energy, their health, their life….and their vitality.
