When I first set out to create Sure Grip Kitchen Towels, I wasn’t just looking to invent another household item—I was solving a problem that countless people experience daily. Whether it’s the frustration of constantly picking up kitchen towels from the floor or struggling to open a jar with slippery hands, I knew there had to be a better way.

Like many great inventions, the idea came from a personal experience. One day, while pregnant and tidying up my kitchen, I realized my towels never stayed on the appliance handles. No matter how I adjusted them, they always seemed to end up on the floor. And when I needed a reliable grip to open a jar, I found myself wishing for a tool that combined utility with convenience.
I wanted to design something functional and versatile—a kitchen towel that wouldn’t just hang but stay put and serve multiple purposes. This led to the creation of Sure Grip Kitchen Towels, a product with a silicone backing that keeps it securely in place while doubling as a jar opener.
Innovation Meets Simplicity
At the heart of Sure Grip Kitchen Towels is a blend of ingenuity and simplicity. The silicone backing is the key to its effectiveness, ensuring it stays firmly on appliance handles—whether it's a refrigerator, oven, or dishwasher. The same silicone surface also provides a non-slip grip for opening stubborn jar lids.
This dual-purpose design has transformed the humble kitchen towel into a multifunctional essential. It’s not just a towel; it’s a problem-solver.
From Idea to Reality
As the founder and sole owner of Knotting Hill Inc., I took on the challenge and risk of bringing Sure Grip Kitchen Towels from concept to reality. Every step of the process—from prototyping to selecting the right materials—was a learning experience. I wanted to create a product that was not only functional but also durable, stylish, and easy to use.
One of the biggest challenges was ensuring the silicone backing adhered securely to the fabric without compromising its purpose or appearance. After alot of testing, I developed a design that combines high-quality, absorbent fabric with a durable silicone grip that holds up to daily use.
Impacting Lives, One Towel at a Time
The response to Sure Grip Kitchen Towels has been overwhelmingly positive. Customers often share how much easier their lives have become, whether it’s a person who, like me, is sick of picking up the towels off the floor or a senior who appreciates finally being able to open jars without hassle. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that something I created is making a difference in people’s daily routines. What started as a simple idea has grown into a product that sparks joy and solves problems in kitchens everywhere.
Looking Ahead
My vision for Sure Grip Kitchen Towels doesn’t stop here. I’m exploring ways to expand the product line with new products under the Knotting Hill Inc brand, while maintaining the same focus on functionality and quality. I’m also passionate about sharing the story behind the brand—about innovation, resilience, and turning small frustrations into big opportunities.
Many a-times I get the “that’s smart, why didn’t I think of that?” remark when talking to customers, which is testament that deep down we are all innovators in some way.
For me, Sure Grip Kitchen Towels represent more than a product. They embody the power of creativity and determination to solve everyday challenges.
