June is a great time to jump—jump into your goals, renew your focus and revisit your approach! If your New Year’s resolutions have fallen by the wayside, jump into ACTION! Jump into your priorities, goals, and tactics to ensure you are delivering on the vision you hope to achieve by year’s end. Take this month to reconsider, review, and renew your focus.

Reconsider if your goals are attainable. Ask yourself, “Why aren’t I accomplishing my goals in the timeframe I designated?”

Review the status of your priorities. Ask yourself, “Does my investment match my priorities?”

Review your tactics. Ask yourself, “Are my tactics still the most responsive ways to achieve my vision?”

If you have fallen short, renew your focus! Identify opportunities to act. Then develop a half year plan to achieve your vision. Make June your month to jump into action by developing a plan with the intention of returning to execution next month.

Unsure about where to begin with developing a plan? Consider this useful framework:

  • Who: Determine who is needed to realize your vision by December 31, 2025. Minimally, it’s YOU! If you are not showing up for yourself, ask yourself why and address it. Reasons for not showing up can include limiting beliefs, unreasonable expectations, low self-worth, clinical challenges like depression or performance anxiety, or a lack of expertise. The good news is that each of these reasons can be addressed. Once you have ruled out self-sabotage and the other reasons, also ask if others are needed to realize your vision. Be sure to enlist everyone needed and provide clear directions and/or expectations.

  • What: Determine what you are doing. Reaffirm or revise your vision. Review your tactics. Assess whether the proposed tactics will enable you to realize your vision by December 31, 2025.

Identify new or revised tactics as needed. Minimally, identify one to five tactics you will consistently undertake and monitor their implementation weekly, monthly and quarterly until your vision is achieved. Lastly, don’t be afraid to pivot or revise your tactics if needed.

    • Where: Determine where you are going to start taking action to achieve your goals. Also, refine your action by determining where the greatest impact can be had and where your greatest challenges lie. Attention should be given to mitigating the strongest barriers and focusing on the areas with the greatest potential impact.

    • When: Determine when you are most productive and consistently act during those periods. This is your “productivity window” and it should be maximized. Also determine when it is time to adjust your tactics, particularly if they are not yielding the progress needed to keep pace with your timeline. Lastly, you should also be mindful when you are making progress or have achieved your goals. Don’t miss opportunities to celebrate your gains or your big wins. Celebrating progress fuels progress!

    • How: Remember how progress is made. Progress is made by being consistent, collaborative, compassionate, and conscientious. Commit to making strides each day. That’s consistency. Be collaborative. You deepen impact and expand your capacity when you partner with others. Be compassionate. Be sure to give yourself and others grace as you strive to achieve your goals. Be conscientious. Work towards your vision diligently with a spirit of excellence.

    • Why: Remember why you are doing this! Remember what will be gained and the difference it will make in your life. If the reasons why you began this journey no longer serves you or motivates you, change your vision. It’s okay to change your mind, perspective or mindset!

Now that you have a plan, let’s JUMP!
