In a world that often celebrates hustle, image, and instant gratification, I’ve chosen to lead with something deeper - faith, compassion, and a daily alignment with divine purpose. As a Christian woman, business owner, wife, mother, and founder of My Hair Helpers, I draw strength not just from what I do, but why I do it. My work is my ministry, and my faith is the anchor behind every decision I make.
The Spiritual Practice That Grounds Me
Each morning, before emails, tasks, or even breakfast, I spend time in prayer and stillness. That’s my reset button. I ask God to lead my steps - not just in my business but in my thoughts, conversations, and relationships. Scripture fuels me, especially Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." When challenges come (and they do), I lean on that strength, not my own. I’ve walked through seasons where my family lost everything - our business, our home - and I had to rebuild while raising five children and launching a company from my kitchen table. There were moments I didn’t know how we’d make it through. But time and again, I’ve seen God show up when I surrendered the worry and trusted Him to fill in the gaps.
Compassion in Difficult Spaces
As someone who works directly with families dealing with the emotional weight of head lice -yes, head lice - I’ve come to realize that compassion often begins in unexpected places. What may seem like a minor issue to some is a deeply vulnerable moment for many parents. They feel ashamed, overwhelmed, or even judged. When my team and I walk into a home, we don’t just bring products - we bring empathy, dignity, and reassurance. We’ve prayed with clients, cried with them, and celebrated healing moments that go far beyond the physical.
Purpose Beyond the Brand
To me, living with purpose means being in constant partnership with God.
It means asking: Am I aligned with what He wants for me, or am I chasing something for my own validation? The answer to that question guides how I raise my kids, lead my team, and serve my community. My purpose is not tied to a title or the size of my company. It’s tied to how well I reflect God’s love in everything I do - from the way I speak to a customer to how I handle adversity behind closed doors.
I believe we’re all given a calling, and for some of us, it doesn’t look like a pulpit or a stage. It looks like a small business or a quiet act of service no one ever sees. Purpose isn’t about being impressive. It’s about being impactful. And true impact comes from living in alignment with what God has placed on your heart.
In the end, I don’t want to just build a successful brand. I want to build a legacy rooted in love, integrity, and faith. Because when challenges come, and they will… it’s not your strategy or your strength that will carry you. It’s your surrender to God’s will, His timing, and His higher purpose for your life.
