Messy Action, Major Impact: How I Launched Plandipity Doers Without a Plan

I never planned to build a membership program at the start of a global pandemic. Honestly, I didn’t even feel “ready” to build one at all. I was still working my hotel career and, thanks to the pandemic, that meant extra hours and fewer resources.
But when the world paused, the need for connection and content support exploded, so I decided to leap, spreadsheet in hand.
At the time, I had just started to transition my photography business into a visual marketing business, More Than Serendipity, helping women entrepreneurs get more intentional with their content. I had this quiet dream of creating a membership space where women DIYing their marketing could plan, post, and stay visible without burning out. A safe place to ask for feedback, build relationships, and get out of our own way.
That dream lived inside a colorful spreadsheet, part social media calendar, part inspiration board. I knew it had potential, but I kept telling myself it needed to be more before I could launch. More polished. More planned. More perfect.
Then everything changed. The world went online. The pressure to "show up" on social media grew louder, and the business owners I adored were overwhelmed. They didn’t just need tips. They needed support. Structure. Encouragement.
So I took a deep breath and opened the doors to something I hadn’t finished yet. I called it Plandipity Doers, and it started with that same spreadsheet and a whole lot of heart.
I didn’t have a full tech setup or a fancy onboarding flow. What I had was an offer: “Come plan with me. Let’s create together. Let’s make content feel less like chaos and more like confidence.”
That early version was simple and beautifully imperfect. But it resonated. Women joined. They told their friends. And suddenly, I wasn’t building alone anymore.
Today, Plandipity Doers is a growing community. Each month, members get:
A Trello-based content planner with daily post inspiration (beyond “just post a quote”)
Weekly virtual co-working sessions where we plan together
Monthly content challenges and creative prompts
On-demand trainings and tutorials
A community of women who are all figuring it out together
It’s not just a calendar. It’s a lifeline for so many of us who wear all the hats, CEO, content creator, team of one.
Looking back, I’m so grateful I didn’t wait for perfection. If I had, Plandipity Doers might still be a “someday” idea instead of what it is now: a thriving, evolving, supportive space.
Overcoming hesitation, for me, meant trusting that what I had was enough to start. I didn’t need all the answers just a willingness to show up and serve.
The best early action I took? I invited people in.
I shared the messy middle. I let them be part of the building process. That transparency built trust. And that trust built momentum.

Now, I’m dreaming even bigger. I want Plandipity Doers to reach women business owners nationwide anyone who feels like social media is one more thing they’re supposed to figure out alone.
Because love it or hate it, social media is a powerful business tool. But it doesn’t have to be stressful. With the right structure and support, it can actually be a joy a way to connect, grow, and shine.
And to think… it all started before I felt ready.
