New Year, New Energy

Entering 2026 feels different—I’m lighter, healthier, more grounded, and more intentional after a year spent rebuilding my life from the inside out. This new season feels like a breath of fresh air. After everything I’ve walked through—my breast cancer journey, the healing, the recovery, the mindset shifts—I’ve learned to honor my body, listen to my spirit, and give myself the grace I used to give everybody else.

2025 taught me the power of slowing down, choosing myself, and making wellness non-negotiable. I changed my habits, my routines, and the way I speak to myself. And now, I feel good. Stronger. Brighter. More aligned with the woman God has been shaping me to be.

My journey through breast cancer reshaped every part of my life: my mindset, my health, my faith, and the way I show up in the world. It forced me to slow down, listen to my body, and honor the parts of myself I used to push aside.

What I once called “self-care” has now become a lifestyle of deep wellness—spiritually, mentally, and physically. And as I prepare to step into 2026, I can honestly say: I feel good these days. Really good. Stronger. Lighter. Clearer. More intentional.

I’ve learned that wellness isn’t a checklist, it’s a commitment. It’s choosing rest over rushing, nourishment over neglect, boundaries over burnout, and gratitude over fear. It’s listening to my body when it whispers so it never has to scream. It’s giving myself permission to slow down, to breathe deeper, to honor my limits, and to celebrate my growth.

Self-care is no longer something I squeeze into my life—it’s the way I live my life. From quiet mornings with God, to mindful movement, to cleaner foods, to protecting my peace, I’m building a life that feels good to me from the inside out. Healing reshaped my priorities, and now wellness is not just what I do—it’s who I’m becoming.

How Breast Cancer Shifted My Lifestyle

My diagnosis was a wake-up call, not just medically, but holistically. I had to rethink everything:

  • What I eat

  • How I move

  • How I rest

  • Who and what I give my energy to

  • How I create boundaries

  • How I advocate for myself and others

I learned that healing isn't just physical; it’s spiritual alignment… emotional release… and mental clarity.

It’s choosing peace on purpose.

It’s honoring my limits.

It’s celebrating my body instead of criticizing it.

It’s understanding that survival gives you strength, but healing gives you wisdom.

And as a breast cancer advocate, I now carry the responsibility of using my voice to empower other women to protect their wellness, too. Our health is not optional. It’s not something we “get to later.” It is the foundation of our purpose and the fuel for the work God has called us to do.

My Go-To Wellness Shift: Slowing Down with Intention

Before cancer, I lived fast. Too fast. Now, I live aware.

One of the habits that has transformed my vitality the most is my morning grounding routine. It helps me start the day from a place of wholeness, not chaos.

It includes:

  • A moment of prayer

  • Deep breathing

  • Light stretching to wake up my body

  • A gratitude statement

  • A quick review of my intention for the day

This small shift allows me to lead, speak, advocate, write, and serve with clarity and peace instead of overwhelm.

A Lifestyle Habit That Protects My Vitality: Boundaries

Cancer taught me the beauty of the word “no.”

No to overextending myself.

No to draining environments.

No to emotional clutter.

Today, my boundaries are a form of self-respect. They keep my heart soft, my mind clear, and my spirit steady.

And they allow me to pursue purpose without losing myself in the process.

Balancing Purpose With Wellness

As an author, speaker, and advocate, my work can be demanding—but it is also deeply fulfilling. The key is harmony, not perfection.

Some days I pour into my mission.

Some days I pour into my healing.

Most days, I do a little of both.

Wellness is now part of my leadership.

Peace is part of my productivity.

Rest is part of my strategy.

Tips for Entering 2026 With Fresh Energy

Here are a few practices that keep me grounded, energized, and ready for the year ahead:

1. Choose a wellness-centered goal for 2026.

Not just what you want to achieve, but how you want to feel.

2. Do a “heart detox.”

Release what drained you in 2025—habits, people, or pressure.

3. Commit to a daily vitality habit.

A walk, stretching, prayer, journaling—something that nourishes you consistently.

4. Reevaluate your boundaries.

Protect your peace and give your time only where purpose lives.

5. Let gratitude guide your growth.

Healing has a way of reminding you what truly matters.

Impactful Affirmation for 2026

“In 2026, I choose vitality, alignment, and peace. I honor my healing, nourish my body, strengthen my mind, and protect my spirit. I step forward renewed, restored, and ready for everything God has prepared for me.”
