When Paula C. Lamb left her home in South Africa to begin a new life in Canada, she carried with her an unshakable belief in seizing opportunities and preparing for every “what if.” It was 2002, and her husband’s career had brought them to Toronto on work visas. Newly married and eager to embrace the unknown, Paula was determined to build a life of stability and purpose in their adopted country. Within a year, the couple applied for permanent residency, knowing that the expiration of their three-year visas could force them to return—even if they had already begun to flourish. True to Paula’s forward-thinking mindset, the preparation paid off. By October 2005, they were not only permanent residents but also firmly rooted in the idea that Canada could become their long-term home.

After several years in Toronto, Paula and her husband made their way west in 2008, settling in Vancouver—a city whose natural beauty and vibrant community became the backdrop of her personal and professional evolution.

Long before podcasting entered her life, Paula was deeply immersed in the service industry, fitness, and nutrition. Her early years taught her the power of listening, adaptability, and communication—skills she would later transfer seamlessly into hosting meaningful conversations with guests from all walks of life. Launching her first business in 1998, Paula benefited from the wisdom of two mentors who instilled in her a commitment to excellence and integrity.

Those lessons became her compass, guiding not only her entrepreneurial ventures but also her podcast productions. She describes her shows as extensions of herself—reflections of her professionalism, care, and attention to detail. Her health and wellness career also shaped her approach to connection. Fitness and nutrition coaching gave her the ability to motivate, support, and help people feel truly seen. Those same qualities now shine in every interview she hosts, ensuring that each episode delivers a message that resonates with her audience. Her contributions to anthologies such as She Stands Strong: 30 Personal Stories of Strength and Resilience and She Glows: Empowering Women through Wellness and Self Care showcase how her journey of wellness and entrepreneurship ultimately inspired her leap into podcasting. For Paula, podcasting became the perfect medium to integrate service, storytelling, and her passion for holistic well-being.

Paula’s deeply personal podcast, Beyond to Freedom, was born out of a spiritual turning point. In her chapter for Becoming an Unstoppable Woman: Rise of the Phoenix, she recounts hearing a still, small whisper that nudged her toward one of the most significant decisions of her life. That moment, over four years ago, led her to realign her voice and platform with authenticity, faith, and transformation. The heart of Beyond to Freedom is the intersection of spirituality and personal development. Paula weaves biblical wisdom with practical tools to empower her listeners in mind, body, and spirit. It is both Christian and personal development-based—a space where listeners are encouraged to move beyond what holds them back and step into their God-given potential. For Paula, the show is not just content creation but a calling: a way to share messages of peace, hope, and growth rooted in faith.

Her earlier show, Knowing Me, Knowing You with Paula, revealed her gift for curating meaningful, inspiring conversations. Each episode was designed as a “bite-size autobiography,” capturing slices of people’s lives while leaving audiences with golden nuggets of wisdom. Some of the most memorable stories included that of Kristine Bunch, who spent 17 years in prison for a wrongful conviction. Her two-part interview moved Paula to tears and opened listeners’ eyes to the human reality of wrongful convictions. Another highlight was her conversation with published author and cruise professional Nancy Soule, who shared vivid insights from a life at sea. Life coach Yinka Adegnenle brought profound lessons on success, while Coach Bob offered perspectives on the booming fitness industry. Paula’s dialogue with Susan Lieberman explored spiritual health, including a guided meditation that left listeners with a sense of peace. And in a series of episodes, scientist and author Ganesh Venkataramanan shared his journey from atheism to Christianity, thoughtfully bridging science and faith in a way that deeply resonated with audiences worldwide. Each guest reflected Paula’s careful curation and high standards, reminding listeners that everyone has a story worth sharing.

At the core of Paula’s life and work is her Christian faith. It shapes her podcasting, her writing, and her service in the community. Every conversation she curates is rooted in biblical wisdom, designed to offer hope and inspire transformation. Her community service reflects that same commitment. Paula spends time encouraging seniors who may feel isolated, offering kindness, compassion, and a listening ear. To her, these acts embody the heart of Christ, reminding her to serve selflessly and shine light wherever it is needed.

Like many, Paula has wrestled with fear and doubt, but her faith provides an anchor. She believes in befriending these emotions—acknowledging them as natural parts of the human experience, while turning to prayer and God for strength. She encourages others to meet fear and doubt with curiosity, asking: Are these feelings true? What is within my control? What can I let go of? Through this process, she finds peace and resilience, guided by the biblical promise that she can “do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

Through her contributions to She Glows, Paula likens life to a mosaic—made of both beautiful and jagged pieces that form a greater whole. Her message to readers is clear: even the broken or imperfect moments shape the masterpiece of who we become. Her goal in writing is to help others embrace their journeys with compassion and hope. She reminds readers that they need not have it all figured out today. Instead, each experience—painful or joyful—serves a higher purpose, shaping resilience, strength, and beauty.

Paula lives by what she teaches. For her, true health requires balance between spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. Every morning begins with a prayer of gratitude, followed by a 5–6 km walk in nature—a practice she has maintained since her twenties. Five days a week, she adds exercise classes, elevating her energy and mental clarity. Her spiritual life is equally intentional: daily devotionals, prayer, Bible studies, and church life groups keep her rooted in God’s word. These practices ground her with peace, joy, and a sense of purpose. When one area is neglected, she feels the shift immediately—a reminder of the interconnectedness of holistic well-being.

Volunteering has deepened Paula’s sense of meaning, connecting her faith with her desire to serve. She believes purpose is not always a singular, fixed destination but often found in the opportunities to give back moment by moment. Guided by God’s will, she embraces each act of service as part of her calling, trusting that it plays a role in a larger, unfolding plan.

If there is one message Paula hopes to leave with her audience, it is this: keep moving forward with perseverance, and nurture the spiritual, mental, and physical foundations that make you truly “fit for life.” For Paula C. Lamb, resilience is not just about bouncing back—it is about rising stronger, wiser, and more alive. Transformation is the journey of becoming who we were always meant to be, and through her podcasts, writing, and service, Paula continues to guide others toward that truth.
