In the United States, we celebrate Women's History Month every March. March was chosen because International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8. We do this to recognize and celebrate the contributions that women have made and continue to make in society.
Women are uniquely strong, resilient, and lead with heart. As Proverbs 31:25 reminds us, “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and laughs at the days to come.” This verse beautifully reflects the essence of a woman’s spirit.
What Makes Women Special?
Remember that each person is uniquely created to be valued as an individual. That said, most women do have innate talents and strengths that help them lead with emotional intelligence, intuition, resilience and adaptability. Women were created with an innate capacity to nurture, whether in families, communities, or workplaces. These talents and strengths transfer well into working environments, especially when they are responsible for a team of people.
Women can often be found in roles that include nurturing, leading, innovating and advocating. From the beginning of humanity, women often had to innovate when times became tough. They often ran the farms and industries nurturing children and caring for the home when men went to war.
Women have a great ability to love, serve, and uplift others with grace and wisdom. Mother Teresa is a great example of loving and serving with grace and wisdom. Harriet Tubman is also a great example of a woman who gave selflessly to help others. There is also YOU! Think about how you are loving, serving and collaborating to empower others.
Empowered Women: Strength in Action
Women continue to break barriers every day! They are leading in business, politics and faith.
Some great examples are Abigail Johnson who leads Fidelity Investments as CEO and Karen Lynch who is the President and CEO of CVS Health. Women have had leading roles in politics since 1848. It has been a struggle to break through, but we are doing it! Women are also stepping up and leading in faith and ministry. A great example is Beth Moore who is an evangelist and author. With a servant heart, women are becoming more and more visible.
Historically, women have been stereotyped into homemaker roles. Women still face fewer opportunities and wage disparities compared to their male counterparts, yet they continue to persevere and thrive while maintaining a family.
Making a Difference: Impacting the World
Women are shaping the next generation by raising their families and being pillars of wisdom and strength. In the workplace they lead with integrity, collaboration, and innovation. In society, we are advocating for change, championing justice, and uplifting communities.
Take notice of three special women, Hannah Olivas, Adriana Luna Carlos and Michelle Bell. They are creating an epic opportunity for change with She Wins Women’s Network where women are empowered to learn, grow, collaborate and thrive!
The Legacy of Women
It is imperative that we continue to recognize and celebrate women’s contributions to create a better world for all. It is time that women embrace their God-given purpose and impact the world the way only they can!
Women, embrace your gifts, walk in faith, and leave a legacy of love and strength. Let’s continue to support and uplift one another; offering strength, encouragement, and, of course, a little laughter along the way. After all, we are clothed with strength and dignity, and we can laugh at the days to come!
