Reclaiming Homeownership Through AI

Co-Founder of HomeZada

Homeownership is often described as the American dream, but for many families—especially women—it can feel more like an invisible second job. It’s emotional. It’s financial. It’s constant. And yet, for decades, the tools designed around our homes were never truly designed for the people living in them.

That realization is what ultimately led me to co-found HomeZada.

My journey didn’t begin with artificial intelligence or technology buzzwords. It began with lived experience—watching homeowners struggle to make confident decisions about repairs, remodeling, maintenance, and organization while juggling careers, families, and caregiving. I saw stress, not empowerment. I saw reactivity instead of foresight. And I saw women, in particular, carrying the invisible mental load of managing the home without meaningful support.

As a woman building a technology company, I quickly learned that homeownership is one of the most overlooked innovation spaces. Entire industries—insurance, real estate, construction, home services—orbit the home, yet the homeowner remains underserved. Technology speaks to professionals fluently, but to homeowners, it often speaks in fragments.

I believed we could change that.

HomeZada was built on a simple but radical idea: homeowners deserve intelligent tools that help them think ahead, not just react. That belief became even more powerful as artificial intelligence matured. But instead of building AI to replace people or overwhelm them, we focused on something different—Homeowner AI that acts as a guide, a translator, and a decision partner.

Reclaiming homeownership through AI isn’t about automation for its own sake. It’s about clarity. It’s about helping families understand what their home needs, what a project truly costs, and how today’s decisions affect tomorrow’s outcomes. It’s about reducing anxiety and giving people—especially women—the confidence to say, “I know what to do next.”

Women now influence or lead most home-related decisions, yet they’re still expected to navigate fragmented systems, conflicting advice, and costly mistakes.

I wanted HomeZada to feel like a trusted ally—one that remembers, organizes, anticipates, and empowers. From visual project planning to maintenance intelligence and home organization, Homeowner AI helps people move from overwhelm to ownership.

My founder journey has been deeply intertwined with this mission. Building a company in traditionally male-dominated industries requires resilience, intuition, and a willingness to challenge long-held assumptions. I’ve learned that innovation doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks thoughtful. Sometimes it looks patient. And often, it looks like designing technology that finally sees the user.

What excites me most is watching families use HomeZada not just to manage their homes, but to reclaim peace of mind. When homeowners understand their assets, plan proactively, and feel supported in their decisions, the home becomes a source of stability rather than stress.

AI is often framed as something futuristic or impersonal. I see it differently. When designed with intention, AI can restore something deeply human—confidence, agency, and trust in ourselves. It can lift the invisible weight women have carried for generations and replace it with clarity and control.

Reclaiming homeownership through AI is, at its core, an act of rising. Rising into smarter decisions. Rising into leadership within our homes. And rising into a future where technology finally works for the people it was meant to serve.
