It’s a roller coaster of feelings, emotions, successes, and failures, and it tends to go up and down many times. And if you’re anything like me, you really feel the highs and you feel all the lows. But you know what? That’s okay. Those lows are not a sign of weakness; they are a challenge that pushes you to look within yourself and provides an invaluable opportunity to learn and grow. When you’re experiencing a challenge, you have a choice in how you respond. Will you fall further into the dark abyss, or will you discover a new sense of determination and propel yourself into something even better? My point is that negative experiences can be a catalyst for creating something significant.

I’d like to share an example from my own life. I didn’t know it at the time, but a negative event I experienced eventually created something significant. I was blindsided in a relationship and had some really difficult decisions to make. I was at an all-time low. Of all the negative experiences I faced in my life, this one truly shaped who I am and the life I have created since. The path was dark, but the healing journey led me to a path I wasn’t sure I would ever have the courage to take, ultimately leading to my career as an established, published author, sharing my stories with the world.

Was it just this one incident that led me to where I am today? Not likely. But it played a significant role. I learned just how resilient, capable, strong, worthy, and determined I really am. And this didn’t come from an outside source. I was forced to look within, and I discovered these truths. Now, I'm a successful single mom raising two amazing boys, and I have built a career around what I love to do most: write. The story that catapulted my career as an author, Mystique, is now available.

I believe your negative experiences can become your launchpad. The strength and resilience you need are already within you, waiting to be discovered. In the several anthologies that I co-author in, including Becoming an Unstoppable Woman: Rise of the Phoenix, I go into more detail about how I got here and share tips and tricks that inspire others to take action on their dreams as well. This journey is yours to take.

Your low points are not the end of your story; they are the start of your most powerful chapter.

I want to help others discover the strength that lies within and inspire others to create their own significant legacy.
