Spotlight: Violet Eyes Optometry

Violet Eyes Optometry was founded in 2013 in Lloydminster, AB by Dr. Christy Mushtaler and Dr. Jessica Lawrence. Following an expansion and new building in 2015, Dr. Danielle Guenet joined the practice in 2018. They pride themselves in delivering patient-centred care, offering the most comprehensive eye exams to detect and treat eye disease as soon as possible. They were the first clinic locally to offer a Myopia control program, to help slow down the progression of near-sightedness in children. In 2023, they were awarded the Women in Business and Business of the Year awards at the Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards. As of 2025, they expanded to offering specialty in office dry eye treatments, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Radiofrequency (RF).
About Dr. Danielle Guenet:
Dr. Danielle Guenet was born and raised in Lloydminster, AB. She decided optometry was the career for her when she received her first pair of contact lenses at age 11. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science with Distinction from the University of Alberta and a Doctorate of Optometry with Distinction from Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon.
Dr. Guenet’s training in the U.S. allowed her to develop special interests in specialty contact lenses and dry eye management. Dr. Guenet joined Violet Eyes Optometry as an associate in 2018 and became a co-owner in 2021. She enjoys bringing her passion for eye care to the patients of Lloydminster and the surrounding area. She has a special interest in myopia control in children and advanced dry eye treatments.
In addition to her commitments at work, Dr. Guenet volunteers locally with the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation and is currently training for her first half marathon.
