I am Posture Ellie (Eleanor Dalton) and I'm a posture therapist (trained in The Egoscue Method)and I help people (predominantly women 50+) relearn how to move pain-free again through corrective posture exercises and breathwork. It's phenomenally simple, easy to do at home, takes a different approach to most other modalities and, importantly, incredibly effective.

My new book “Posture Power” comes out in March 2026 and I also have a podcast called “Posture-lating with Posture Ellie” if you’d like to learn more about posture. You can information to both on my website. I also have hundreds of videos on my YouTube to get you started.

I used to be a very miserable person who struggled to find hope and felt very ‘stuck’ in my life and in my desk-job. For some reason, I started doing yoga and it was the only exercise I’d ever found (as an adult) which I really found myself actually wanting to do. Yoga really helped me reconnect with my body (and loosen it up) but also my mind (which also loosened up!) From here, I found myself called to teach more people about the power of re-establishing movement to our stiff bodies and how transformative this process is for both our bodies and our minds. This is where I found Postural Alignment Therapy and soon trained in it.

Posture is similar to yoga, but with more of a focus on reducing pain (rather than flexibility or strength) and adding a posture practice into my weekly movement regime changed my life and I believe it can change your life too: by reducing your aches and pains and improving your energy levels.

Postural Alignment Therapy is based off the simple premise that a balanced body is a happy body. Our sedentary, modern world and imbalanced habits (like sitting cross legged on chairs or holding children/handbags) and sports (like tennis or golf), create a great deal of imbalance through the joints and muscles. When the joints are not stacking efficiently and the muscles are tense trying to hold the imbalanced joints upright, the body is put under a lot of physical and mental strain. This strain does not just impact the musculoskeletal system but also the other systems: cardiovascular, digestive, excretory and neurological, as examples. Balanced and frequent movement is crucial in keeping our whole body healthy.

Through gentle, corrective posture exercises, we bring balance back to the joints and this then frees up tension from the muscles. Without the anxiety that comes from suffering pain AND with a ‘new’ body that is moving more efficiently and with less effort, energy levels soar.

I’ve gone from a stiff, sedentary desk-worker to a mobile and super-active person who loves exercise: I feel WAY better now than I did 10 years ago! I love spreading the word as to how powerful these gentle practices can be on totally adjusting the trajectory of our lives.
