The Agentic Shift: Why the Future of Business Belongs to the "Player-Coaches"

The biggest mistake leaders are making today is thinking that AI is just a better way to chat.
As a co-founder of ClaireAI and a freshman in college, my life is currently a study in two very different worlds. In one, I am navigating the foundations of finance and the typical hurdles of campus life. In the other, I am at the forefront of a massive industry shift that is quietly redrawing the rules of how we work: the move from Generative AI to Agentic AI.
While the world is mesmerized by chatbots that can write poems or summarize emails, my co-founder Tiago Strammiello and I are obsessed with the "Agents"—systems that don't just talk, but act.
The "Next Big Shift" isn’t coming; it’s already here. We are moving toward a reality where AI agents autonomously manage high-value workflows, from "vibe coding" entire software modules to handling end-to-end legal and finance operations. We founded ClaireAI to bring this exact power to the legal industry.
We realized that a law firm doesn't just need a bot to answer a question; they need an agent to capture a lead, qualify a case, and manage a schedule without human intervention. At ClaireAI, we’ve built that "agentic" layer—a 24/7 intelligent receptionist that ensures no potential client is left waiting for a voicemail. For a law firm, a missed call is a missed five-figure settlement. We built ClaireAI to ensure that doesn't happen, moving beyond simple "chat" into proactive business management.
But here is the hard truth that many leaders are avoiding: No one is coming to save you.
The transition to an AI-driven economy requires what I call "Change Fitness." Success in 2026 and beyond depends on the work you put in today to integrate these tools directly into your core workflows. You cannot outsource your curiosity. If you aren’t seeing outcomes from AI, it’s usually because you haven't put in the work to ensure your data and systems are ready for an agentic future.
Navigating this as a student-founder has taught me that the traditional 9-to-5 routine is a relic of the past. To build something that lasts, you have to be a "player-coach." You have to be willing to get your hands dirty in the code and the process while simultaneously steering the vision of the company. It means sacrificing a "normal" college experience to master tools that will be the global standard by 2027.
At ClaireAI, our obsession with the process is our competitive advantage. We believe that only those who fall in love with the grind of building—those who are willing to bridge the gap between human intuition and machine execution—will take their businesses to the next level.
The shift to Agentic AI is a call to action. It’s an invitation to stop being a spectator of the tech revolution and start being an architect of it. The future isn't just about who has the best tools; it’s about who has the "change fitness" to run with them.
