Whether it’s business or sports, technology or any other field, women have demonstrated their capabilities time and again. Yet, when it comes to recognition and rewards, the disparities are glaring.

When launching Zuci Systems and Intics.ai nearly a decade ago, the founders made a conscious decision to change that.

Their work culture can best be described as a happy fusion of tradition and technology. Code meets cool. However, a great workplace isn’t built overnight—it’s the result of creating space for women to lead, innovate, and feel truly valued every day. That goes far beyond Equal Pay and Opportunity to ensure that compensation is determined purely by role and experience, supported by transparent compensation that promote fairness and equal access to career growth.

Today, women are at the helm of key operations at these two companies—Sujatha Sugumaran leads Quality Engineering, Kalpana Sudharshan heads Learning & Development and Quality Assurance, and Annapoorani Venkatram heads the Finance division. Almost half the workforce are women—44.62% to be precise—in roles including AI development, software engineering, technology consulting, and talent management.

Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) is central to the companies’ philosophy and is reflected in numerous transformative initiatives. Recognition came just a year ago in the form of the “Best Place to Work for Women” award (Avtar & Seramount), the “Inclusive Workplace Award” (CecureUs) for more inclusive environments, and the “Healthy Workplace Award” (CecureUs) for nurturing physical, emotional, and mental health for their India operations. The awards were an endorsement of their commitment to building an inclusive and supportive environment where women thrive and succeed.

Their initiatives include the BEVY women’s network, which fosters mentoring, networking, and leadership development by connecting aspiring professionals with senior leaders through sessions focused on confidence-building and navigating challenges. Complementing this is LEAP BOLD, a leadership enrichment program designed to propel women into decision-making roles through strategic exposure, negotiation training, and sponsorship.

Zuci’s commitment extends to creating flexible pathways for career continuity. Initiatives such as part-time options post-maternity, Career Comebacks for mothers, and crèche facilities to ensure that women are supported through life transitions. A flexible work culture empowers employees to balance personal and professional priorities, while their Happy Minds wellness program and mindfulness spaces promote holistic well-being.

Allyship is woven into daily operations through gender-neutral Allyship workshops, equipping frontline leaders to model inclusive behaviors. Women also play critical roles in shaping innovation through their active participation in the AI Centre of Excellence, driving model development and research initiatives.

The ID (Inclusion & Diversity) community amplifies these efforts through year-round programs on equity and representation. Recognition, both formal and informal, celebrates women’s contributions across levels, spotlighting leadership potential and behind-the-scenes impact.

Together, these initiatives reflect Zuci’s belief that empowerment is not a one-time act but a sustained, organization-wide commitment. By embedding inclusion into policies, culture, and leadership pathways, Zuci continues to create meaningful opportunities for women to thrive and lead.

Efforts like these help bridge the gap between genders and are part of a conscious, concerted, and constant effort to achieve and maintain parity.

It has helped Zuci Systems and Intics.ai navigate evolving technology landscapes and build a collaborative future with women playing a central role in its creation.
