Unleashing the Beauty Inside of You!

Every woman is unique and beautiful, even if we don’t always feel that way. So how do we unleash the beauty that is inside of us? Certainly, we have heard of “garbage in and garbage out”. It applies as much to nutrition as it does to data. We want to make sure we are filling ourselves with nutrients that will help us feel fantastic and shine from within. Trying to avoid sugar, processed foods, and alcohol is a great start! Do your best to eat whole foods such as an apple versus apple juice. Enjoy all the veggies you want, satisfy your sweet tooth with fruit and take in enough protein to keep you full and build those sexy tone muscles! We want to be hydrating. This will not only flush out toxins, but also help our cognitive function and plump up our skin.


Exercise is your friend. No matter how dragged out you might feel, if you can force yourself to exercise you WILL feel better. Moving your body releases stress, revs up your metabolism and releases endorphins that make us feel fabulous! If you are not motivated, try walking on the treadmill or around the house while you scroll through social media. Is there a friend you’ve been meaning to call and have chit chat? Put on your tennies, plug in the ear buds, get outside, dial her number and chat away. You will find that your walk goes by very quickly when you are talking with a friend. You might even do another mile as you are laughing and talking on the phone. A major benefit of exercise is that if you do it vigorously, you will actually be glowing afterwards!


Strive to have a positive attitude. This is not easy if you tend to be a negative Nellie or are having a bad day. Simply paying attention to your thoughts and “self-talk” can be very enlightening. If you notice you are thinking “How can this day get any worse?”, try reframing your thought to “I’ve had a challenging day, and it is only going to get better!”. Sometimes we need to slow down, spend a few minutes thinking about what we are grateful for in our life and realize that things are probably not as bad as they seem at the moment. There is power with positivity. Visualize what you want to happen, consciously change your thinking if a negative thought pops in and watch what happens! People who see the glass as half-full experience less stress, are seen as more attractive and have better personalities. What better way to unleash your inner beauty!


Sleep tends to be underrated. Have you heard someone say, “ I’ll sleep when I’m dead.”? Well, their demise might come a lot sooner than they realize! Women experience sleep disturbances and/or poor sleep quality up to 75% of the time. Not sleeping well can cause your hormones to get out of balance. Who hasn’t been ravenous after sleeping poorly? Cortisol levels and blood pressure increase, which also raises your risk of a stroke or heart attack. It is also a LOT easier to become depressed, irritable and overreact. Strive for at least 7 hours of sleep a night. Think of it as a beauty treatment. Indulge in soft sheets, relaxing pillow spray and get that sleep mask that makes you look like a star! When you wake up rested and refreshed, you’ll feel lovely and ready for a beautiful day.
