Unleashing Your Grief… and Your Power

There’s a moment in every healing journey when you realise the answers you’ve been searching for aren’t outside of you, they’re buried within. To access them, you must be willing to go where it’s uncomfortable, to face the shadows buried in your soul.


That’s what my chapter “Unleash Your Grief, Unleash Your Power” is all about.

I'm honoured to be a co-author in the brand-new international bestselling book “Unleash Her: The Next Chapter” a powerful collection of stories by women who have risen through adversity and reclaimed their inner strength.


In my chapter, I explore the deep connection between unexpressed grief and untapped personal power. I take readers on a journey through the dark corners of my own life, from sudden loss and chronic illness to trauma, bullying, and debilitating self-doubt. These experiences left me buried under layers of pain and limiting beliefs. For many years, I believed I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t capable, and wasn’t worthy of success or peace.


However, I’ve since learned that the very emotions we’re taught to suppress, the grief, the rage, the sadness, can hold the key to our healing. They are not evidence of weakness, but invitations to remember who we truly are beneath the wounds.


When we allow ourselves to grieve fully, we begin to heal fully, and from that healing comes incredible power.


I share openly how grief shaped and almost silenced me. It was through confronting that grief that I uncovered the parts of myself I thought I’d lost: my resilience, my voice, my gifts.


This chapter isn’t just about my story. It’s an invitation to look at your own life.

To ask yourself:

  • What pain have I been carrying?

  • What beliefs are still holding me back?

  • What power could be waiting for me in the parts of myself I’ve hidden?


Grief doesn’t only come from death. It comes from loss in all forms, loss of identity, of health, of safety, of dreams.


I feel it’s one of the most misunderstood emotions we experience. We’re told “time heals all,” but the truth is, time alone doesn’t heal grief. We learn to live with it through compassion, presence, and courage.


That’s exactly what my chapter offers: a space for courageous healing. A space where you feel seen in your sorrow, understood in your stuckness, and gently guided toward the light within you.
