Why and how you started your podcast

As the host of Wake Up with Marci, an inspirational talk show on CBS WLNY-TV, I had the incredible opportunity to spotlight stories of hope and healing. But with just 3–8 minutes per guest, we were limited in how deep we could go. I knew there was so much more to explore...especially around healing, recovery, and mental health.

After nearly a decade of personal transformation, including overcoming trauma and alcohol use disorder, I felt called to create a safe space where honest, soul-level conversations could happen. That’s why I launched the Wake Up with Marci podcast.

I wanted a space where guests could open up without time constraints and listeners could feel truly seen and supported. The podcast is my way of extending my mission globally by empowering women to prioritize their mental health, reconnect with themselves, and remember they are never alone.

Key lessons, strategies, or insights from your journey

The most powerful lesson I’ve learned is that vulnerability is a superpower. When I show up fully (not polished, but present), the response is deeper connection and greater impact. Whether I’m interviewing a guest or sharing my own story, the truth always resonates.

I’ve also learned the importance of consistency and intention. People need to trust that you’ll show up for them, not just with new episodes but with real purpose. And I always keep my audience in mind. What do they need to hear? How can this episode make someone feel less alone?

Finally, I believe preparation is respect. I do my homework, I create sacred space for each interview, and I always lead from the heart.

Your thoughts on whether others should start a podcast — and why or why not

If your heart is pulling you to share your voice... say yes. Podcasting can be an incredibly powerful platform for service and connection. But it’s not just about being heard; it’s about helping others feel heard too.

Don’t start a podcast just because it’s trendy. Start it because you have something meaningful to offer. Whether that’s lived experience, healing wisdom, laughter, or perspective — your voice can create a ripple effect. But know this: it takes commitment. Show up fully or not at all.

A brief spotlight on your show: what it’s about, who it’s for, and where listeners can find it

Wake Up with Marci is a podcast for women who are ready to go from surviving to thriving. It’s for the woman who’s doing it all — yet feels stuck, burned out, or disconnected from her own worth. It’s for those healing from trauma, struggling with perfectionism, or navigating recovery and mental health.

We have raw, unfiltered conversations about emotional wellness, boundaries, spirituality, sobriety, forgiveness, and stepping into your purpose.

I speak with therapists, thought leaders, authors, and changemakers who are lighting the way for others — and I share pieces of my own journey along the way.

The show is both comforting and activating. We cry, we laugh, and we grow together. And if there’s one thing I hope every listener feels, it’s this: You are not broken. You are becoming.

You can find Wake Up with Marci on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, or wherever you listen. It also streams on ONNJ — available on Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
