What if one vacation a year could save your life?

What if one vacation a year could save your life?

Let's start with a few self reflection questions:

When was the last time you traveled? A year ago? 2 years?

Did your parents travel? If so, did they take you as a child? As a parent yourself, do you travel with your kids?

Do you see travel as a luxury or an essential part of your life?

You see for many people, travel is still seen as a luxury or an expense. When it is an investment in your health and wellness.

As a former Registered Nurse, I learned early in my career that time is your most precious commodity and that life is short, especially when you do not take care of yourself. I know from personal experience that living a life hustling 3 jobs, a lack of sleep, chronic diseases like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and/or diabetes with constant stress and the inability to process your emotions can lead to an early death. My mom was 53 and died of colon cancer. She thought she had time and waited for retirement.

You see most people go to school and get robbed of their creativity and problem solving capabilities. They end up in debt, working a job they hate, left overwhelmed, stressed, and feeling guilty for wanting to take a break or wanting to spend time with family. This constant level of stress leaves you eating processed and fast food, drinking anything but water, managing life without adequate sleep for your brain or rest for your body, and a lack of exercise.

Thus, leading an unhealthy lifestyle, strained relationships, and heart disease to be the leading cause of death.

What can we do about this? Take more supplements? Have new years resolutions?

No! You can prioritize your wellbeing and take time to decompress, reset, and rest on a vacation.

When was the last time you dreamed?

You see, heart disease is the leading cause of death and one vacation a year can lower your risk of heart disease by up to 30%!

Thus, traveling is not just for fun, but essential to living a healthy life.

When you travel, you take a break from daily life, ground yourself, take a step back, analyze your life, and enjoy new experiences which in turn opens your heart and mind to new possibilities.

As human beings, we need to learn about life outside; not in a classroom or via a textbook. Learning about new foods, cultures or languages helps you grow in compassion and empathy. It shows you how others live and how many experience joy despite their lack of material possessions.

Imagine the learning experiences a child would have through their innocent and curious eyes that are full of wonder.

From driving across the USA in an RV to traveling to a new state or internationally, you can see the diversity and beauty of every state and country. Yes, it can be uncomfortable, but that is where your personal growth happens in a safe and fun way. From cruising to an escorted tour, or traveling solo or with a group, you get to choose how and where you want to go!

Where is your bucket-list destination?

If spending 40+ hours of research on a search engine feels exhausting and is stopping you from traveling, working with a travel advisor will bring you peace of mind, convenience, and save you time and money by avoiding costly mistakes.
