Who is she

She’s a woman who has found her voice through her struggles. For many years she’s felt unheard & unseen. It wasn’t until her forties where she felt the most alive and liberated. Her journey hasn’t always been the easiest, but it sculpted her into the woman she is today. In her eyes what she went through was exactly what she needed to figure out what her purpose on earth was. She knew that helping others on their journey was part of her calling, so becoming a health/life coach was a no brainer.
For many years she battled demons within, which led her to dig deep and work on her own growth. Although she has come a long way, she still has more growing and evolving to do. Her resilience and strength to push through has gotten her from moments of pain to moments of purpose. She truly believes that we’re put through different situations to prepare us for what’s to come. Think about it, if everything went perfectly how would anyone know if they were strong enough to handle hard situations when they arise?
Throughout her life she’s always craved validation, and to be loved unconditionally, which stems from past trauma. Self-esteem and body image issues were two things that she constantly struggled with growing up. Her weaknesses held her back from opening up to others. She felt as if her identity was never hers to begin with. She never knew how to stand her ground because of all the chaos within. She always tended to gravitate towards dysfunction, which always felt normal to her.
Growing up she was always very shy, reserved, pessimistic, and sad about practically everything. She was really good at wearing a mask. Most people never even knew she was struggling mentally. She hid it really well, to the point that she didn’t even recognize who she was. Sometimes you are forced to be someone else because who you are disgusts you, well at least that was her interpretation. Her lack of communication derived from a fear of being judged. She knew that she was different in some way, but never understood why.
Uplift has been her safe haven. A place where she feels care-free and at home. The thought of inspiring others to live out their God-given purpose has made all the pain and suffering she’s gone through worthwhile. The book and program have not only made her feel unstoppable, but has also unlocked something special within. Its allowed her to see her own brokenness through the program. Her journey has helped her develop skills that she can utilize to help others through their hardships. Each chapter touches up on areas that can be beneficial to anyone’s growth.
If you knew her back then, you would have never thought that she would become the woman she is today. One day she was sitting in her room and felt as if the Lord had downloaded the word Uplift in her mind. The wheels starting turning, letter by letter she came up with a word or phrase, and from there started crafting her program. Everything started to roll off her tongue, and before she knew it, she had put together her own unique program. She had dreamed of teaching others what she wish she had learned growing up. Her passion to help others came from a place of empathy and compassion that she had grown over time because of her own experiences.
In such a short period of time she has received heartfelt compliments regarding her book.
She has always said that if Uplift inspires at least one person than she’s done what she was set out to do, be an inspiration. Her passion for helping others surpass anything else. She truly believes that her short comings have transformed her life in so many ways and helping others is a way of honoring the Lord.
As far as her love for the Lord goes, it’s always been there. The years of finding herself was when her relationship with the Lord had diminished. He never gave up on helping his daughter heal from her wounds. It’s usually through the storm that you become the strongest. They say after the storm has passed you won’t remember how you made it through, or even how you managed to survive, but one thing is certain you will come out a different person then you walked in.
She never envisioned herself as an author. She had a limited mindset which made her feel like a failure. Being successful in life was never an option for her. She felt like damaged goods. Her ability to concentrate on anything was slim to none. Her academics were slowly spiraling. She felt as if the odds were against her, even though she had no idea what she was dealing with. The sad part was that she never realized that she had been suffering with depression for years until her early twenties. For a long time, she would say if I knew my diagnosis sooner maybe life would have been easier. As time went by, she realized that she had to go through years of struggle to strengthen her mentally.
Life has a funny way of coming full circle. The irony of it all is that she is now working for a mental health organization. She’s worked in many areas of the facility, but the area where she felt as though she thrived the most was as a Medical Office Assistant. Financially it may not be the best, but spiritually it’s definitely worth it. The position prior to the one she has now was draining her energy. She was tucked away solving billing inquiries with no purpose helping others. It got to the point of her feeling trapped. She even got physically sick with anxiety which led to panic attacks. God knew she was needed elsewhere. She is now the front line and feels a sense of humility and gratification working in her position. She is me.
