When I went to Starbucks yesterday to sit down, relax, drink a coffee and read as usual. I had not in mind that I would meet someone unique and with great vibes. She is a Writing Coach, teacher and entrepreneur from California. She is visiting Puerto Rico for work and to do tourism. She was sitting in the other corner of the cafeteria when she said hello and we started talking about her career. Latasha Jimerson started doing a podcast about her process through divorce and how she managed the situation. She provides 8 lessons she learned from her experience. She explained that the main problem is avoiding conflict. “Don't say what we are really thinking until we explode.” We accumulate our feelings, resentments and anger. We don't ask for help because we think “we have everything figured out.” We must let go of our pride and our ego.

First lesson: We have to learn about our own toxic treats. We can't repeat the same mistakes. We have to speak for ourselves and we need to let people learn for ourselves. People change for themselves not for you. Nobody is going to change for yourself. She leaves her teaching job to adventure to travel and work at her pace. Now she is preparing for her writing retreat to Japan.

Second lesson: Don't be afraid to walk away with nothing. Wherever you go you can start over gain. Don't stay in a situation that's not healthy for you. Don't be afraid to be alone. “Wherever you go God is with you”, she explained her beliefs and values keep her moving forward.

Third Lesson: Get right with God. Starting reading the bible. Reading the Bible helps her to be more connected. “God's presence is always with you. Have faith. Fall in love with the good times.”

Fourth Lesson: Get right with yourself. Forgive yourself to attract people who make fun of you or don't respect you.

Fifth Lesson: Get right with your parents. Don't blame them for things of the past. Resolve your parents' issues.

Sixth lesson: You need to go on vacation. Vacations are mandatory. Planified your next vacation. You will love the world and yourself.

Seven Lesson: Forgive and forget. Bring forgiveness with you and move on. Forgive the people who hurt you and stay away from them.

Eight Lesson: Become an influencer. Do professional development. Do all the reading. Keep your mind focused. Become the person that others want to work with. You must have a good character, a good moral, be honorable, with work ethics, certainly, speak honestly. Firstly, solve your own issues before solving others' problems. Have hard conversations with your parents, with your friends, with your colleagues. Be a leader not a follower.

She motivates us to have a process of healing through writing. She is giving creative writing classes to manifest the life that you want. “Happiness is a choice”, she concluded.
