Your Intuition is Your Treasure Map to Happiness

by Kimberly Beam

One of the things that I have learned over the past couple of years is that human beings are always pressing into what is coming. They are looking for the next thing - sometimes before they even accomplish the now-thing they are working toward.

We move goalposts - move the definition of success further away as we near the goal line. Once we near one milestone, we are looking at the next milestone and forget to celebrate how far we have come and what have done.

Not only are we looking for the next big thing, we get bored easily. We are bored with the same old same, same old. One of the reasons entrepreneurs get into working for themselves is working for somebody else doesn’t do that for them anymore or they were never interested in working for somebody else. If we want to be cutting edge, if we want to be innovative, if we want to be doing something completely new, we need to be stepping out and stepping into our intuition.

Albert Einstein says imagination is more important than knowledge. He knew that E=MC2 before it was proven, and it took the experimental physicists to prove what he knew theoretically. He used his brain and his imagination to come up with something brand new.

We as regular human beings have to press into what is new and exciting for us to feel alive at our positions. Often we feel stuck doing the tasks we don’t love - and for me that’s emails and social media posts and compiling my podcast. This is not fun for me. However, what is more fun for me and what does light me up is pressing into my intuition for other people, being able to hear words that encourage inspire uplift, give direction and hope - this is the foundation of the work I choose to focus on. If in your business you’re feeling you are only swimming in the mediocre, the humdrum, like you’re being bogged down by the nitty-gritty day-to-day, I encourage you to step out and into a space where you allow your imagination to be free.

Where are you most alive? Is that at the beach? Is that in the woods? Is that in a room in your house? Is that at your child’s game? At the gym? In a yoga studio? Where do you feel most allowed to be imaginative, excited, and free to dream?

It is in those dreaming spaces where you allow your mind time to think. I encourage you to find ways to give your brain space to be creative and imaginative. Our brains need the opportunity to percolate and breathe in order to create new ideas and allow for room to pull ideas together that inspire exciting vision and direction for where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there.

In my work with individuals, I teach them not only how to get in touch with their body and their intuition, but how to also dream and explore. We are not born with a physical treasure map of where to find in our happiness and our joy. However, there is an internal guidance system within and around you, that when you learn how to tap into that, you are rarely uncertain of how to steer the ship of your life.

You are the captain of the ship and the master of your destiny. Your intuition is the “treasure map”, the guide, and when you learn how to read that map - you learn how your intuition speaks to you - you are being steered by your higher purpose and dreams.
