Building Legacy From the Places Meant to Silence Me

Legacy is often spoken about as inheritance. As something passed down, planned for, or modeled. For me, legacy had to be constructed.

I am a writer, spoken-word artist, and Founder & CEO of Zuri World Studios, a creative house built on one core belief: Uplifting voices the world tried to silence. That belief did not come from theory or branding. It came from lived experience, and from surviving environments designed to erase voice, agency, and future.

Some of the most formative chapters of my life unfolded in spaces where silence was expected and obedience was demanded. I learned firsthand how systems can strip people of identity, reduce them to labels, and dictate who is deemed worthy of being heard. Those experiences did not diminish my voice, they clarified it.

Zuri World Studios was born from that clarity.

I founded Zuri World Studios to protect truth, authorship, and creative sovereignty, particularly for voices shaped by survival, resistance, and reinvention. Too often, people with powerful stories are encouraged to dilute them in exchange for visibility. I chose another path: one rooted in ownership, intention, and legacy.

My work lives at the intersection of lived experience, justice, healing, and storytelling. Through literature, spoken word, and multimedia projects, I explore identity, power, freedom, and what it means to rebuild oneself after being told-explicitly or implicitly-that you do not matter.

Legacy, to me, is not about perfection or polish. It is about continuity. It is about ensuring that what was learned through hardship does not end in silence, but becomes a bridge for others.

My debut release under Zuri World Studio, Leaf Blower, reflects this philosophy. It is layered, honest, and unapologetic-written not to be consumed quickly, but to be sat with. I do not create for trends or algorithms. I create for resonance.

As a spoken-word artist, I treat language a both art and evidence. Words are not simply expressive; they are archival. They record what systems try to forget. They preserve what history often erases. Every performance, every page, every project is an act of reclamation.

In 2026, Zuri World Studios continues to expand across publishing, audio storytelling, live performance, and visual media. Each project is developed with care, integrity, and long-term vision. Zuri World Studios is not a personal brand. It is an ecosystem designed to protect stories and the people who tell them.

Healing is a central thread to my work, but it is not frames as softness alone. Healing, as I understand it, is a leadership skill. It is the ability to confront truth without collapsing, to forgive without forgetting, and build without replicating harm.

I believe legacy is built when we refuse to let our hardest chapters define our limits. When we claim authorship over our lives. When we speak, when silence would be easier.

What I hope my work leaves behind is permission: permission to speak honestly, to own your story, and to build futures that were never modeled for you.

Legacy is not inherited. It is built voice by voice, truth by truth, and story by story.
