From Burnout to Empowerment: My Journey to Mindful Motherhood and Breathwork Coaching

by Alison Levine

In 2016, I was a successful celebrity wardrobe stylist, working long hours in a high-pressure industry. I had achieved what many would consider the pinnacle of my career, but I was burning out fast! The stress, constant hustle, and perfectionism had taken a toll on my mind and body. When I became a mom that a couple years later, everything changed—bringing immense joy but also unforeseen challenges.

The transition to motherhood was overwhelming, and soon I found myself struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety. My once organized and energetic self felt like a distant memory. As I navigated the emotional and physical toll of new motherhood, I realized something had to change. I needed to prioritize my mental and emotional well-being, or I risked losing myself completely.

It was during this difficult time that I discovered mindfulness practices, and more specifically, Breathwork. The simple act of focusing on my breath allowed me to regain control over my emotions and thoughts. It brought me back to the present moment and helped me reconnect with myself in ways I never imagined. I felt my mind, body, and spirit align in a way that provided a profound sense of peace and clarity.

As a result of my transformative journey, I became a certified Breathwork Coach and later a trauma- informed coach. I am now the proud mama of three beautiful children, and I am thriving—mind, body, and spirit. This journey led me to create my app, Breathe & B with God, where I help women, especially mothers, rediscover their inner strength and live more balanced, empowered lives.

My experiences also inspired me to contribute to the book Pray, Don’t Panic, where I share my chapter, "Breath as Prayer," teaching others how Breathwork, combined with spiritual practice, can lead to alignment and healing. Helping women embrace mindfulness practices to thrive in all areas of life is my passion, and I’m honored to guide others on their journey toward holistic well-being.

Today, I am not just surviving—I am thriving, and I want every woman to feel the same.
