How We’re Building a Global Marketplace One City at a Time

For most people around the world, buying and selling locally should be simple. You should be able to find what you need nearby, trust who you’re dealing with, and complete the transaction safely. But in reality, local commerce today is fragmented, risky, and inefficient. People rely on informal platforms like Facebook groups, WhatsApp messages, or classified listings where scams, fake listings, and unreliable sellers are common. Trust is missing, and without trust, local economies struggle to grow.
I experienced this problem firsthand. I watched people lose money to fraudulent sellers, struggle to verify who they were dealing with, and waste time chasing unreliable leads. At the same time, I saw honest people trying to sell or offer services locally but having no reliable platform that truly worked for them. That disconnect between real people and real opportunities was the moment that pushed me to start building Blide.
Blide is a global, AI-powered peer-to-peer marketplace designed to bring trust, speed, and safety back to local commerce. Instead of forcing everyone into one massive, impersonal platform, Blide launches city by city. Every city has its own waitlist, its own local marketplace, and its own community. Whether someone is buying, selling, or offering a service, they are matched intelligently with real people nearby, backed by escrow protection that ensures money is only released when both sides are satisfied.
We are launching Blide across more than 11,000 cities worldwide, building a network of trusted local marketplaces that operate under one global infrastructure. Our system combines AI matching, verified user flows, and secure escrow so that people can trade confidently without worrying about scams, chargebacks, or unreliable partners. The goal is simple: make local commerce feel as safe and smooth as using a modern financial app.
What excites me most is not just the technology, but what it enables. When local marketplaces work, people gain financial independence. Small sellers can reach buyers without middlemen. Freelancers and service providers can find clients in their own communities.
Families can buy and sell without fear. Blide isn’t just about transactions. it’s about restoring trust at the neighborhood level.
This is especially important for women, founders, and small business owners who are often disproportionately affected by fraud, unreliable platforms, and lack of access to secure digital infrastructure. A trusted local marketplace means more opportunities, more stability, and more control over one’s income. That’s the kind of system we’re building.
Even at this early stage, we are already seeing global momentum. People from different countries and cities are joining our waitlists, showing that the demand for a better way to trade locally is universal. Communities are ready for something that works, something designed for them, not just for scale.

Looking ahead, Blide is building the foundation for a new kind of global commerce: one that starts locally, is powered by AI, and is secured by trust.
We believe the future isn’t a single giant marketplace where everyone competes in one place. The future is a network of thriving local markets, all connected through technology that makes it easy, safe, and fair for everyone.
This is only the beginning.
