Founder and CEO of Syren Spreads

I'm Megan Castellón, founder and CEO of Syren Spreads—the first spoonable chocolate hazelnut beauty supplement. We launched in December 2025, but the idea began years earlier, born from a simple frustration I couldn't ignore.

In February 2022, at age 50, I was unexpectedly discovered on Instagram for my cake artistry and hired as Head Pastry Chef at a Chicago restaurant—despite having zero professional training. After more than 20 years as a home baker, I suddenly found myself in the heat of a restaurant kitchen, juggling creativity, pressure, and constant motion.

At the same time, I was trying to take better care of myself.

Every morning started with collagen powders and beauty capsules; every evening ended with wellness pills that I dreaded. It struck me how backwards that felt. By day, I created desserts that brought joy and comfort. By night, I was forcing down supplements that felt sterile and awful.

That disconnect made me wonder: why can't a supplement taste as good as it makes you feel?

Over the next three years, I worked with confectionery scientist Georgios Mouzelis to turn that question into something real. Together, we figured out how to combine research-backed adaptogens with advanced confectionery techniques. Our goal was simple: bridge the gap between science and pleasure, so your wellness routine tastes like something you want, not something you tolerate.

That's how Syren Spreads was born—a beauty supplement you actually crave.

Beauty is changing beyond filters

Beauty is shifting. It's no longer about flawless skin or perfect photos. Today, beauty means energy, balance, and being genuine. It's less about covering up problems and more about building confidence from within.

Modern consumers get that glow comes from internal wellness as much as external care. The new beauty conversation is broader—it's about mind, body, and spirit working together.

The wellness lie that needs to die

For decades, the wellness industry has pushed a harmful myth: that effectiveness and enjoyment can't coexist. If it's bitter, boring, or hard to stick with, it must be working. But that belief has only created what I call supplement fatigue—people tired of chasing results through routines they hate.

Traditional supplements focused on compliance, not connection. Powders, pills, and capsules became chores instead of moments of care. Here's the truth: if wellness doesn't feel good, it won't stick.

Syren Spreads was created to change that rule. We make delicious, functional beauty routines that marry results with pleasure.

When routine becomes confidence

The most powerful beauty rituals are the ones that feel good. When taking care of yourself is enjoyable, it builds trust in your own habits. You stop seeing self-care as another task and start treating it as something you deserve.

Real beauty isn't built from restriction—it's built from routine. When something tastes amazing and supports your goals, staying consistent becomes natural. And that consistency is where confidence grows.

The future of joyful beauty

I believe we're entering a new chapter—what I call joyful beauty—where self-care feels good instead of demanding discipline. The future of wellness belongs to products that deliver science and satisfaction in the same spoonful.

Syren Spreads is really about indulgence without guilt. It's wellness that fits into your life naturally—because caring for yourself should never feel like punishment.

That's what joyful beauty means to me: confidence that starts with pleasure and builds over time.
