Most people get confidence all wrong. They think that you either have it or you don't. Not so, confidence can be built over time. I like to call the strategies for confidence building as 'Habits for Healing'.

The things we do on a daily basis add to our confidence or strip it away. Our thoughts, the small decisions we make each day, whether we ask for what we want or settle for what's given. What I love is the control we actually have over this. This is based upon a basic principle in psychology. Our thoughts determines how we feel. And how we feel about ourselves becomes our actions and decisions.

You want to walk into rooms with confidence; lead a meeting with conviction? Let's look at what you can do everyday to feed that part of your life.

Build a reservoir of confidence by fine tuning your thoughts and beliefs about yourself. Daily habits like repeating affirmations, listening to niche podcasts and guided meditations, reading books that challenge negative thinking can solidify our confidence.

Want to take it a step further? Build habits that match your new thoughts: like something as simple as posture. Straighten up that spine, and remind yourself to take up space in rooms (no matter who is in them). Dress for how you want to feel and not how you feel. We’re setting the stage to think, feel and move through the world with confidence that comes through self love and intentionality of habits.

We like things to come fast and easy. But if you want it to last, you have to be willing to feed what you want to grow. It's much easier to get a new hairstyle and makeup. Those things do help, but ensuring that the internal matches the beauty of the external is key. Make sure you have daily practices that matches your level of style and you'll be unstoppable.
