My name is Zakiyya Rosebelle, and I'm a life and habit coach and author of a new, rising book in the self-growth space called Daily Habits of Tea and Joy. A Gentle Guide to Finding Everyday Joy Through Tea, Gratitude & Mindfulness, the book is brimming with daily habits and a unique system that I use and share with my clients. I'd love to share a little bit about it.
I use tea as a practical tool for habit building because it works seamlessly with what we know from behavioral and habit science. Research shows that habits form more easily when a new behavior is linked to a stable, existing routine—what’s often called “habit stacking.” Preparing a cup of tea provides a consistent cue: the sensory steps of boiling water, steeping, and sipping signal the brain that a specific behavior is about to follow. This predictable sequence helps strengthen neural pathways associated with the new habit, making it easier to repeat over time. By pairing a calming ritual with intentional actions, tea becomes a simple yet effective anchor for creating habits that are both sustainable and supportive of well-being.
