Like many children, I envisioned a future of fame or a career in healthcare. Yet, the winding road of life rarely aligns with our early ambitions. Though I secretly yearned to be an entrepreneur, self-doubt about my skills held me back. It was in the wake of my husband's tragic death on our one-year wedding anniversary that I finally found my life's purpose.
In the wake of my husband's unexpected death and while battling colon cancer, I found solace and purpose in writing. Though it had always been a passion since high school, a friend's suggestion to document the preceding years of my life truly sparked my journey. My first book's success encouraged me to keep writing, leading to speaking engagements where I discovered my love for the entire process of writing and publishing. As I continued to write and support other widows, I began receiving requests for publishing assistance. This demand ultimately led to the creation of Tanisha Mackin Publishing, where I now offer a variety of packages to help clients bring their own books to life and share their stories through writing.
Many aspiring authors had powerful stories but lacked the time or writing skills to tell them. Recognizing this need, I expanded my publishing offerings to include ghostwriting services. Sharing these testimonies and stories became my purpose, helping me navigate my own pain. Today, my full-service publishing company has proudly released over 100 books across all genres, transforming clients into bestselling authors. I've been dedicated to the publishing business for 10 years, and I absolutely love it.
Today, my company, Exclusive Publishing by Tanisha Mackin (formerly Tanisha Mackin Publishing), stands as a luxury publishing house dedicated to meeting my clients' unique needs. Our comprehensive packages include ghostwriting services, branding, promotion, media features, and VIP treatment.
I've also expanded my business to include Exclusive Virtual Assistant by Tanisha Mackin. Through this service, I provide clients with essential administrative and creative support, covering everything from social media content and promotional flyers to newsletters and more.
My passion for travel has also led me to become a travel writer, sharing my experiences with the world—especially alongside my two children, whom I adore traveling with.
It hasn't been an easy road, but I've transformed my pain into purpose. With strength and perseverance, I've built a successful publishing company, and I'm just getting started.
