The Ultimate Social Worker: Building What the System Refused to Give

Simone Muschett, LMSW, did not leave her career on a whim. Her transition into entrepreneurship was rooted in responsibility, integrity, and a clear understanding of what families truly need. After more than a decade working as an Educator and School Social Worker, Simone saw firsthand how the system often fails to adequately support youth and families facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Too often, families were expected to navigate complex situations alone, and children’s growth was limited by a lack of meaningful intervention.
A pivotal moment in Simone’s journey came when she faced an ethical conflict at work involving a sensitive social and emotional crisis within a family. While she believed it was her duty to provide support, her administration chose inaction. That experience clarified her purpose. Simone recognized why parents trusted her and why her approach resonated. She understood that her values were no longer aligned with a system unwilling to prioritize families in moments that mattered most. Rather than compromise her principles, she chose to build her own business.
Today, Simone provides personalized, person centered support designed to meet families where they are. Her work is grounded in a psychodynamic, strengths based ecological framework that allows for structured yet flexible solutions. She is known for developing collaborative intervention plans that are realistic, sustainable, and tailored to each family’s unique circumstances. Clients consistently recognize her ability to solve challenges the system often overlooks while respecting their existing commitments and lifestyles.
To Simone, Boss Moves represents confidence, ownership, and intentional action. Personally, it means having authority over her time and resources. Professionally, it means taking initiative, sharpening her expertise, and positioning herself in spaces that value her contribution. This mindset required growth, particularly as she navigated fear and released the belief that her value was tied to institutional affiliation.
Leaving the school system was both challenging and affirming. Despite stepping away, Simone continued to receive messages of gratitude from families she had served. Her impact remained visible, and people continued to seek her guidance. She learned to honor her expertise, set clear boundaries, and confidently articulate how she serves. These shifts allowed her to move beyond scarcity and step fully into her role as a trusted resource.
Community also played a key role in Simone’s development as an entrepreneur. Through her involvement with From Breakthrough to the Bank, she gained not only strategic guidance but affirmation. Investing in herself revealed how much she needed to be seen and supported. Having a coach and a community that recognized her strengths helped her reframe how she viewed herself and her potential. She learned that while faith is foundational, support from the right people can be instrumental in growth.
In this season, Simone defines success through execution and consistency. She no longer measures progress by immediate outcomes. Instead, success means showing up, completing the work, and trusting the process. This shift in mindset has allowed her to move forward with clarity and confidence, regardless of external validation or early results.
Simone is currently on her book tour, The Ultimate Social Worker’s Diary: A Becoming Story. She is engaging with college students, women’s groups, and community spaces to share her message of authenticity in faith, career, and relationships. In addition, she has launched ARISE Together for Parents, a six week course designed to strengthen communication and help families break generational cycles of trauma. The Winter Session began this month.
