Therapist Scales Impact Through Digital Nomad Business

After building a successful course that helped 950+ therapists with insurance billing, I made a move that seemed backwards - I dramatically reduced my therapy caseload right when my practice was thriving. Everyone thought I was crazy to walk away from guaranteed 1:1 income.
The strategic pivot was scaling from individual therapy sessions to serving hundreds of clinicians simultaneously through courses, coaching, and my Bill Like A Boss community. Instead of helping 20-30 clients per week, I could now impact nearly 1,000 therapists while actually working fewer hours and earning more.
The timing risk was real - I had to trust that course revenue would replace therapy income before my savings ran out. But the math was compelling: one course could serve the same number of people as years of individual sessions.
This shift didn't just increase revenue - it gave me location freedom to become a digital nomad in February 2022. Now I run my entire business from Inspirato properties, Airbnbs, and hotels while maintaining an insurance-based practice from Florida. The scalability allowed me to launch The Traveling Therapist Podcast and help other clinicians build location-independent practices.
