Do you celebrate the small and big wins in your personal and professional life?

Not too long ago, I made some big decisions that led me to significant celebratory milestones. April has always held special meaning for me. Four years ago, at the end of March 2021, I took a leap of faith and began my podcasting journey. I wrote about this in an article in Podcastars Magazine, Nov 2024 issue, calling it “One Small Step, One Giant Leap.” It felt like a huge step into the unknown. While it was a massive learning curve, that decision connected me with amazing people worldwide and allowed me to share their incredible stories and message. My vision and mission to entertain, empower, and transform listeners' lives became a reality.

Soon after, I took another significant leap—returning to church and reconnecting with my spiritual foundation. It was a simple yet profound decision, rooted in listening to my inner voice, guiding me to something that has since shifted my entire life.

Then, just one year ago, in April 2024, I pressed "send" on an application to become a co-author with She Rises Studio. At that moment, I was filled with equal parts doubt and excitement, wondering if I was truly capable of contributing to something as powerful as a collaborative book. Little did I know that the simple act of saying ‘YES’ to myself and once again embarking on a journey into the unknown would set off a chain of positivity that rippled through my life. Today, I am so proud of myself and feel blessed to have three co-authored collaborations under my belt, contributing to magazine articles, and being part of a wonderful family of women from around the world.

These milestones, big and small, are meaningful because they represent moments where I stepped out of my own way and said ‘YES’ to myself. I embraced the unknown and took a leap of faith. I never celebrated my wins, but since embarking on my creative writing journey and having to reflect on my past, I’ve come to realize that acknowledging how far you've come, the hurdles you've pushed through, and what you've achieved is significant to your life.

Celebrating our wins has a profound impact on our mindset and well-being. Psychologically, celebrating our wins sends a message to our brains that we’re on the right track. It triggers positive emotions and reinforces the belief that our hard work is paying off, which builds resilience and self-confidence—pushing us to tackle even bigger challenges.

As an entrepreneur, business executive or team leader, celebrating wins is not just about personal achievement—it's about acknowledging the efforts of yourself, your team, clients, or business partners. Doing so strengthens relationships. A simple ‘thank you’ or recognition of a colleague’s hard work can boost morale, enhance collaboration, and create a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.

Celebrating is the fuel that keeps the engine running, builds momentum, and keeps you motivated and focused on your goals. Pausing to reflect and celebrate your progress gives you the energy to keep moving forward, no matter how big or small the next challenge may be.

These celebrations don’t need to be lavish. They can be as simple as pausing to reflect, take pride in your efforts, and recognize the steps that got you here. The key is acknowledging the journey. Your success is about progress, and every win is a sign of growth.

So, next time you accomplish something, take a moment to celebrate—because every step forward is worth acknowledging.
